This athearn kit has been re-powered with a Proto Power West can motor and an Athearn Genesis electronic board to control the directional lighting. Brass strips were added to make a wireless connection between the cap and body.

Ditch lights added using details West ditch light castings, Athearn genesis 1.5v light bulbs, and Athearn Genesis electronic board. Runner boards cut off frame and Details west plow added as well as lift bar, air hoses, and MU cable plus painted handrails. This board is DCC ready. Bulbs will be added to light front and rear headlights via clear plastic stick Kato uses on it's locomotives.
