On 5/9/05, I was contacted by NS police about a photo that appears to be taken from NS property. I was sent a citation for trespassing after another railfan turned me in by sending a link from my website to NS police. This sets precedence for citation by NS from a photo even if the photo was not taken on NS property but looks like it was!

More Important Information on Photographers Rights!

 

This was "suppose" to be about railroad photography but in knowing a lot about the topic of photography in general, I have some very disturbing news. If you think that you will be able to take pictures of trains from public property in the future, think again! The rights of photographer's are being limited in just about every segment of photography!  This article from Nature Photographer's magazine entitled "The Erosion of Photographer's Rights – A Very Worrying Trend" is a must read if you wish to be informed on what is happening to civil rights in general.
